This area, situated to the east of the city of Malaga, can be reached from the provincial capital via the valley of the River Guadalhorce, after which it is named. It enjoys a privileged location in terms of its proximity to the capital of the Costa del Sol, Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park, Los Gaitanes Pass and the series of reservoirs at El Chorro, not to mention the Malaga Mountains.
